PickupTrucks.com is reporting that Global Vehicles, the US distributor for the upcoming TR20 &TR40 pickups, has filed suit against Mahindra. Global Vehicles has signed up over 350 dealers across the US and spent nearly $35 million preparing to launch the mighty Mahindra’s. The problem is the continual delays, the TR20 & TR40 have been scheduled to launch in the fall of 2009, February 2010, and May of 2010. Every time the media has been told the delays are due to EPA certification.
A spokeswoman for the EPA has said Mahindra has yet to file certification papers for the trucks…why could that be? Many are speculating that Mahindra is trying to get around Global Vehicles sole distribution deal. If this is true it could be the sad end of the TR20 & TR40 landing on American shores.
We’ll keep you posted on the latest. These trucks have the potential to be biodiesel sipping workhorses…if we could just get them over here.
