For those of you who didn't attend I wanted to share some of the great exhibits at the Green Drive Expo last week. It was an awesome show... get ready to see some green cars in action-
Obviously I have to start with our own booth... here it is just after setup the morning after a long drive in.
My booth neighbor was a very cool guy, Ron Hansen, president of Hybrid Battery Repair. Ron can fix any kind of hybrid battery but he specializes in Honda Insight/Civics. He can fix your Insight battery for typically $750-$1,250..not a bad deal at all! So if any of you need your hybrid battery fixed give Ron a buzz.
Ozee Cars is a neighboorhood electric car dealer. They had a cool little truck and some electric mopeds on display.
Green Cab of Madison is a new all hybrid taxi service launching in Madison. They had a wrapped Prius on the floor, looking leafy!
Honda City is Wisconsin's only Civic CNG dealer and they brought one to show off... 36mpg on fuel that can cost around $1 gallon, not bad at all!
ScanGauge is a tool that allows you to see much more information about how your car is running than what the stock gauges show. A must for any serious hypermiler.
Madison Gas and Electric showed up with the biggest hybrid truck I've ever seen. Also, they were talking about the electric stations going in around Madison. Search Madison for EVC right here on our site to find them.
.
Ford had some really cool cars. Check out the Ford Focus all electric vehicle and the new 40mpg Fiesta.
Toyota brought the plug-in Prius (finally!). Next year you'll be able to plug your Prius in and get up to 13 miles all electric in the morning...finally an OEM plug-in option on a hybrid. This car will keep you cool with all electic air conditioning, and believe me when I took it out for a spin we were using it.
Enginer is a plug-in conversion company and they were showing off their Prius system.
Prius Connect, a technical chat forum, was there with a special guest. This Prius truck was the creation of Steve Woodruff of AutoBeYours.
Re-involt technologies is another plug-in conversion company. They tied for first place in this years MPG challenge.
Smart Toyota does Hymotion plug-in conversions in Wisconsin. They had a wrapped plug-in to show off.
The Milwaukee Hybrid Group had an educational booth clearing up any hybrid myths fair attendees came in with.
Prosser RV had a very impressive neighborhood electric vehicle to show off called the Kandi Coco. They also sell many RV's that won't break your gas budget, making them green times two.
And now for some random green cars at the show. The EV1 is the famous electric car that was recalled by GM and crushed. Apparently there are about 7 or so left in the world all owned by Universities who have pieced them back together. Also, can you guess which one of these cars was Urkel's? hint...he was a ladies man that drove a bimmer
